Education: The Fácila Project

In 2004 a plan was set into motion to initiate an education program that would be based on and inspired by a Swedish national educational project called “Kunskapslyftet” (loosely translated as “Elevation of Knowledge”) that allowed one millions swedes between the late 1990’s and early 2000 to increase their level of education.

The result was the Facila Project that began in 2007 after CLS, IEFP and ANQ signed a protocol of collaboration with the objective to transfer knowledge in the area of adult lifelong education between Sweden and Portugal. Facila’s pedagogic approach to adult learning is based modern research that states that adults acquire knowledge in a different way from children, meaning that for the project to be successful the adult learners’ specific needs must be met.

The Facila Project offers to educate your employees in a quick and efficient way. We offer the opportunity to increase basic education, specifically to 9th and 12th grade, through collaboration with IEFP and their educational centers called CNO (Centro de Novas Oportunidades). These centers are based on the RVCC method, namely the system of Acknowledgement, Validation and Certifying Competence.

Facila’s educators teach preparatory courses that include the basic disciplines, as well as TIC (Technology of Information and Communication) and Mathematics used in Life for 9th grade, and English and Science for 12th grade. The syllabus of each discipline is adapted to complement the reality of the student’s life. This ensures that the system of validation and certifying competence is maintained.
