Our speakers

CLS, the Swedish-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, Jennifer Ekström, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors. With a decade of positions within trade, business development and public affairs in Portugal, Jennifer has both followed the development of Portugal as a tech hub as well as supported numerous Swedish companies accessing and expanding in the Portuguese market. Jennifer will share both insights from her experiences and provide the Swedish view of the ongoing trend.  

AICEP Portugal Global - Carlos Moura, Director of AICEP Portugal Global & Trade Commissioner / Economic and Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Portugal in Sweden. In the last couple of years, Portugal has been positioned as a tech hub for many international companies. Carlos will elaborate on the competitive advantages such as talent and innovation when establishing in Portugal and give a unique insight into the Portuguese tech scene.

Sérvulo & Associados - The partner Teresa Pala Schwalbach co-leads the firm’s Scandinavian Desk and has extensive experience in supporting and assisting Scandinavian companies and individuals wishing to invest in Portugal, advising them on the implementation of structures oriented towards the type of investment to be made, namely through the restructuring of existing corporate structures, the incorporation of new companies and the use of existing tax benefits in Portugal. She also has a significant experience advising private clients on all aspects of their relocation from Scandinavia to Portugal, including, in particular, advising on the purchase or lease of property, Non-Habitual Residents regime (NHR), social security and public health service enrolment.

Sérvulo & Associados - Ana Rita Paínho is a partner in the Sérvulo & Associados Portuguese law firm’s Intellectual Property & TMT department, working in the areas of Patents, Information Technology, E-Commerce, Data Protection & Publicity Law. She is a Specialised Lawyer in Intellectual Property, by order of the General Council of the Portuguese Bar Association. Her practice is highly active in technology/IT matters, including software agreements and technology matters. She acts as a trusted advisor to several technology giants, on negotiation strategies that allow accommodating EU-US transactions. Her experience also covers e-commerce matters including advertisement and publicity areas of the media sector. 

 Neotalent - José Gomes is a senior professional with extensive experience in the Information Technology arena, focused on how sophisticated technology, innovation and new digital solutions can transform and reimagine customer business. Over more than 17 years developed competences encompassing Program & Project Management, Service Management, Strategic Technological Partnerships & Alliances, ICT Product Lifecycle Management, and Consulting Services, in multiple business sectors and across several geographical regions. Currently, leads Neotalent’s Capacity Services & Nearshore Business Unit, being responsible to expand the Nearshore business by leveraging the potential of the IT market in Portugal and Neotalent's unique value proposition and, either through direct channels or leveraged in institutional and local partnerships. 

 Neotalent - Gonçalo Glória is responsible for the Nearshore Business Acquisition of Neotalent, acting as the primary contact to new partners to guarantee a smooth onboarding. At his core, it is the commitment of establishing long-term and sustainable partnerships, always carrying a positive and can-do attitude. His area of activity is centered in Europe with primacy for the markets of Northern and Central Europe as well as the British Islands. Gonçalo is also recognized for its ability to deliver high-performance teams for large and medium-sized companies in multiple technologies and business sectors.

Sectra - Carlos Cardoso is the General Manager of Sectra in the Iberia region. His area of expertise is Medical Imaging IT and he will talk about his unique experiences regarding deploying a Swedish company in Portugal from scratch and the advantages and disadvantages Sectra faced along the way.
