In March, CLS partnered with NERLEI CCI to organize a Business Mission to Sweden. The mission aimed to build stronger business connections and highlight opportunities in the Swedish and Portuguese markets.
The Business Mission to Sweden was organised through collaboration between CLS and NERLEI CCI, a local Chamber of Commerce from Leiria. The purpose of the mission was to introduce Portuguese companies to the Swedish market and to increase knowledge of respective market's opportunities and potential. CLS accompanied the group of five Portuguese companies from a broad range of sectors to Sweden between 9th and 13th of March.
On Tuesday the participants were invited to the offices of Swedish Credit Export Corporation (SEK) to take part of presentations of the Swedish market, the Swedish Export Credit System and cultural aspects of doing business in Sweden. Georg Marthin, Senior Analyst at Business Sweden gave an insightful briefing on market dynamics, trends and entry points in Sweden.
Financing, risk management and the Swedish Export Credit System presented by Ida Littorin at SEK gave a better understanding of how foreign companies can use the credit system to fund their expansion to the Swedish market. Lastly, Paula da Silva, a Portuguese proffessional who spent most her career in Sweden discussed important cultural differences of making business between Portugal and Sweden.
The main focus of the Business Mission to Sweden was to facilitate individual business meetings between Portuguese and Swedish companies. A few of the Portuguese companies travelled outside of Stockholm for their individual meetings, like Gothenburg and Malmö. CLS accompanied a few of the meetings and supported the companies on site throughout the week.
Through this initiative, CLS has worked to foster stronger trade connections and raise awareness of both the Swedish and Portuguese markets and their companies. We look forward seeing the opportunities and collaborations that may grow from this initiative moving forward.
