On Tuesday, March 24th, the annual General Assembly Meeting was held at Ericsson’s office in Lisbon. CLS members were brought together to review the previous year, and looking ahead for what 2026 will bring for the Swedish-Portuguese business community.
Pedro Gonçalves, Account Director at Ericsson, welcomed our members to the Ericsson office in Lagoas Park. Pedro shared the story of Ericsson and the future of 5G and AI in the country. He highlighted that the company will be turning the impressive 150 years old during 2026.
Frederico Paiva, Country President at Securitas Portugal and Vice-President in the General Assembly Board, thereafter talked about Securitas and their mission to make the world a safer place. Also them celebrating 90 years of cooperation marking 60 years in Portugal.
H.E Elisabeth Eklund shared her thoughts on the geopolitics and Portugal as an attractive hub due to its location. The Ambassador highlighted the excellent collaboration between the Embassy of Sweden in Portugal and the CLS during her 4 years as Ambassador.
At the second call, Frederico Paiva, Vice-President of the General Assembly, opens the meeting and greeted all participants welcome.
The General Assembly Meeting then continued with a presentation made by the Chairwoman of the CLS Board of Directors, Jennifer Ekström, who shared the CLS Annual Report of 2025. A year that, yet again, excelled in performance and achievements for the CLS. New initiatives, strategic partnerships, and new members were all part of recent progress and will continue in the presented activities for 2026.
Furthermore, Carlos Oliveira, Treasurer of the CLS presented the financial statement of 2025, along with the budget for 2026.

After concluding the presentation and remarks about the past year and what's ahead, votings took place to approve the following topics:

Carl-Magnus Stensson, former General Manager at Essity Portugal and President of the CLS General Assembly Board. We thank Carl-Magnus for his work and dedication during his time with us and wish him all the best in the future.

Aira Mello, former Consumer Experience Director at Volvo Car and Board Member of the Board of Directors. We thank Aira for her positive spirit, dedication and contribution to the CLS and wish her a thriving future.
