As part of the annual MBA visit from Stockholm University, CLS organized the highly appriciated Executive Exchange Dinner. This evening was a celebration of the continued collaborations between Sweden and Portugal, and a milestone for defining the EU's way forward in a competitive landscape.
On May 20, CLS welcomed 80 guests from the Swedish-Portuguese business community for a record-breaking edition of the annual Executive Exchange Dinner. The networking event took place at IDEA Spaces in São Sebastião—one of our member venues, offering stunning views of the Lisbon skyline.
The evening marked the highlight of the Executive MBA visit from Stockholm University, with 30 Swedish MBA students in Lisbon to explore the local business landscape and gain insights into the Portuguese market. To honor their visit, the dinner was designed to foster high-level networking and dynamic dialogue among industry leaders, policymakers, and experts across various fields.
Throughout the evening, participants engaged in lively discussions and forged new professional connections. The centerpiece of the event was a thought-provoking panel discussion, expertly moderated by Carl Hermelin (Vice President of CLS and Expansion Manager at INGKA Group). The panel featured distinguished speakers: Carlos Morais Pires (EU Commission), João Branco (Millennium bcp), Juan Oliveira Urquijo (Ericsson), and Stephan de Moraes (Indico Capital Partners).
The conversation focused on Portugal’s strategic role in the EU’s competitive landscape and the path forward for innovation and economic growth. Topics included the impact of recent election results, infrastructure and connectivity investments, talent attraction, and the emerging opportunities within the AI boom.
Following the panel, guests enjoyed a seated dinner that allowed for further conversation and meaningful exchange in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere.
This formal gathering was hosted by CLS in collaboration with the Swedish Embassy in Lisbon, Business Sweden, and Stockholm University, with the generous support of our valued partners.
