Team Sweden in Portugal collaborated this year to carry out the Business Climate Survey. Respondents and stakeholders from organizations engaged with the Swedish-Portuguese business community convened for the launch event. The productive morning featured the key findings from the survey, alongside speeches delivered by representatives of Team Sweden and a panel discussion.
June 5th was the celebratory launch event of the Business Climate Survey—a joint-effort report from Team Sweden in 37 markets and one globally. The report was again conducted in Portugal after a two-year absence.
The morning at the residency of the Swedish Ambassador to Portugal commenced with a breakfast to greet the participants, as well as welcoming remarks by the Ambassador. Followed by speeches from Chairwoman of the CLS, Jennifer Ekström, and Market Area Director Southern Europe, Samira Grylin-Allalou.
After the initial mingle with breakfast and commencing speeches, Ida Ortega, consultant at Business Sweden, presented the outlook of the report along with the key insights.

Portugal is considered a gateway from Europe to South America and Africa with strong trade ties. Swedish exports to Portugal amounted to €850 million in 2024, and imports reached €1.10 billion.

After the report's findings were presented, a panel discussion commenced. Moderated by Jennifer Ekström, comprising of Frederico Paiva from Securitas Portugal and Tiago Barreiros from Volvo Cars Portugal. Delving into the overall business climate in Portugal, the effects of the lack of a double tax treaty and how the Swedish brand is perceived in Portugal. The discussion became lively with the audience getting involved, asking questions and sparking dialogues.
This effort is another successful venture for Team Sweden in Portugal. Showing what is achievable when organizations join forces to achieve mutually beneficial goals.
