As summer comes to an end and a new season is just around the corner, we would like to take the opportunity to introduce our new colleagues while also saying goodbye to a familiar face. CLS is excited to welcome Mikael Björs as our new one-year trainee and Nora Widén as Junior Project Leader. At the same time, we would like to wish last year’s trainee, Vendela Eriksson, the very best of luck on her upcoming adventures.
Bom dia cherished members of the Swedish-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce,
My name is Mikael Björs, and I am the new trainee at the Chamber for the coming year. My first days here in Lisbon have been filled with sunshine, new impressions, and plenty of friendly faces. I am excited to get to know more of the Swedish-Portuguese community and look forward to meeting many of you at our events this fall.
Growing up in Gothenburg, I have always been curious about the world around me. As a child, I had a picture of an airplane on the wall of my room, serving as a small reminder of all the places and cultures waiting to be explored.
In June, I graduated from Uppsala University with a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies. During my studies, I explored a wide range of subjects, including economics, sustainability, and peace and conflict studies, and had the opportunity to spend a semester in Vancouver, Canada. These academic experiences deepened my interest in international relations and Sweden’s role in the world, which I further explored this past spring as an intern at the Swedish Institute in Stockholm. There, I worked with promoting Swedish cultural and creative industries, including music, film, and architecture, together with Swedish foreign missions and even chambers of commerce.
I look forward to bringing the knowledge and experiences I have gained along the way to CLS, while at the same time learning more about the bilateral relationship between Sweden and Portugal. Lisbon is a charming city in many ways, and I am increadibly happy to finally be here. I would also like to express my gratitude to the Scholarship Fund for Swedish Youth Abroad, who have made this adventure possible for me.

CLS is also pleased to welcome Nora Widén back in her new role as Junior Project Leader. Having previously been part of the CLS team, Nora returns with a great understanding of our work and valuable experience from her time with us. She is looking forward to taking on new responsibilities, continuing to develop our projects and contributing to strengthening the bilateral relation between Portugal and Sweden.
At the same time, we would like to thank former trainee Vendela Eriksson for her great work and commitment throughout her traineeship at CLS. During her time with us, she has been an appreciated part of the team and contributed to a number of our projects and activities. We wish Vendela all the best in her future endeavours and thank her for her time with us.
