CLs is strenghtening the board with a new observing board member

15 January 2020

From December 12th, CLS is happy to welcome Elin Boavide Berglie as our new Observing Board Member. Elin is part of a step in CLS vision to strengthen our knowledge and strategic decisions to be a continued trusted partner within the Swedish- and Portuguese business community. Read about Elin´s background, how she has been part of Swedish trade and how she ended up working in Portugal with global Strategy & Transformation at Cisco.

Elin Roseiro Boavida Berglie grew up in Tyresö outside Stockholm but left Sweden 20 years ago to live in France, China, Belgium, and Portugal

Elin studied Mandarin in high school, the language studies made her quite interested in China and after graduating in Business Administration at Stockholm University, she moved to Beijing to work for the Swedish Trade Council (today called Business Sweden). The apparent one-year contract turned out to be 8 very interesting years In China. During these years, Elin was very involved in the Swedish Chamber - she was a member of the Editorial Committee that published Dragon News a Swedish business magazine published in China and Hong Kong. With the increasing interest from Swedish companies in the Chinese market, the Swedish chamber was a very dynamic community to be part of.

In 2010, Elin left Asia for Europe, and Lisbon became her new home town.  The move was not very difficult since Lisbon has a lot that she had missed for many years in China, especially the ocean. Since 2010 she has worked for the American IT company, Cisco, with a three-year break, when the family moved to Brussels. In Brussels, she worked for the Assembly of European Regions, taking care of their 200 member regions.

In Cisco, Elin is part of a Strategy & Transformation team, working with a sales organization across Europe and Africa. She is leading projects in areas like sales acceleration, and communication and community building. Elin is also very involved in Cisco’s Employee Resource Programs where she leads both Women of Cisco and the Back to Business Network in Cisco Portugal.

During the weekends Elin enjoys discovering Portugal together with her husband and two twin boys. Elin is very excited to join the CLS since she is very interested in the Swedish Business abroad and she hopes she can bring her professional experiences to help develop and strengthen CLS’s presence in Portugal.

From the Board of Directors of CLS, we are thrilled to have Elin on board and look forward to a successful collaboration!
